Today I want to say thank you to all who have supported me in this journey to lead Vacaville as your next mayor. Now that the election is over and the results have become clear, I am humbled by this opportunity to serve and grateful for all your help along the way. We did it!
Since I began this campaign four months ago, I have sought not just your support, but more importantly your trust. I have spent much of my life serving our community here in Vacaville, and am thankful for all that it has given my family. I am humbled by the experiences I have had in seeking to serve as mayor, getting to meet new people and make new friends.
I have listened to people along the way and know one thing clearly, Vacaville is more than a place, it is a feeling. A feeling of safety and security, opportunity and community. Our small town feel is also a welcomed experience for many new residents, who also want to be part of this special place called Vacaville.
I reflected on all the great things that I love about our city, especially people. Having previously served as your police chief, I appreciate how our local government works on the inside, as well as the needs of our community we serve. I am excited about our future, and together we will embrace the priorities and issues that matter.

“It has been my privilege to serve the City of Vacaville for over 30 years in public safety, and as your Chief of Police for 7 of those years. I am honored and humbled by your support, and am thankful for all we have accomplished for our City and staff over the years. I look forward to the opportunity to serve as mayor of this wonderful community that I love and call home.”
Public safety is one of the most important and impactful responsibilities of local government. Here in Vacaville we have enjoyed some of the most responsive and innovative approaches to police and fire safety as well as emergency medical services (EMS). Most are unaware of the details, but truly appreciate being safe and secure in their homes, businesses, schools, and personal way of life. We should all be proud of the work of our police and fire departments, yet concerned that we may fall behind due to the difficulties in staffing, recruitment, and hiring. Carli knows how to address these priorities, and several others that impact public safety, to ensure we can continue to provide these excellent resources for the future.
